A Vehariffic Panel at the Buffalo History Museum

I'm Paneling the Nickel City Opera presentation on our world-premiere opera SHOT! at The Buffalo History Museum on Wed 5/11. Top WNY Historians will lead us through the Pan Am Expo; and NCO's artistic staff (including our Founder, and the opera's Director) bring us Behind The Curtain for the genesis of SHOT! But I am personally most excited to introduce the Composer Persis Vehar. It's a family affair with the Vehars; Persis' daughter Gabrielle wrote the libretto. I studied voice with her husband Robert (who discovered my Contralto/ Baritone range), and Persis accompanied my faculty recital at Canisius College. My Dad even took voice lessons with Bob! And I was honored that Persis, Gabrielle and Jonathan attended a special opera recital I gave in Bob's honor. We first encountered Persis' music when members of the BPO presented selections from her City Of Light Concerto at my wedding rehearsal dinner, so very much looking forward to this!
