Welcome
Singer ~ Scholar ~ Model ~ Actress
Contralto and musicologist Suzanne Fatta has been praised for her rich tone, wide range (singing professionally as a Baritone with Vivaldi's Women), expressivity, and dramatic skills -- she is pursuing a PhD in Historical Performance Practice at the University of York (UK), studying Early Music with John Potter, Jonathan Wainwright and Lynne Dawson. Suzanne is also a professional actress and model, working with Models of Diversity. She has studied Voice, Musicology, Religion, and Medieval History at Oberlin, Harvard and Eastman in the USA, specializing in music of the 16th and 17th centuries, with a strong interest in drama, and contemporary music. Sue is passionate about combining performance and scholarship; her doctoral dissertation is on performance practice in the lighter vocal forms of Sigismondo d'India. She is an active researcher, and, in addition to holding many research and editorial assistantships, was a Teaching Fellow and Adjunct Professor in Religion and Music courses at Oberlin, Harvard, York and Canisius College. Currently, she sits on the Council of the Royal Musical Association as Student Representative. Prior to coming to York, she was a soloist and Section Leader with the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus and Chamber Singers. An experienced ensemble singer and soloist, Sue has performed in top performance venues across the US and Europe, including world-premiere events, with concerts scheduled this season in York, Oxford, London, Dublin, Paxton, Venice and Rome.
